SpeedRunners is a fun new superhero-themed running game that has hit Steam. Winner of SWSX 2015’s Gamer’s Voice Award, and 2012 Nominee of Dutch Video Game Awards’ Best PC Game, the title is receiving rave reviews.
If you love fun platformers and knocking people down, you should check it out. Here’s the copy for the game:
In a city filled with superheroes, getting to crimes becomes a competition on its own. Fortunately there are enough rockets, bombs, grappling hooks, spikes, and other goodies lying around — to make the competition fun and fast. Welcome to SpeedRunners.
SpeedRunners is a 4 player competitive platformer with grappling hooks, power-ups, and interactive environments. Run, jump, swing around, fire rockets, grapple onto people to knock them off screen. If you fall off screen, the screen shrinks until all players are dead.
SpeedRunners is available for Windows, OS, and SteamOS+Linux systems. It comes with full controller support, and achievements, plus offers local and online multiplayer. There’s also an option to play as bots (AI) or even pit them against others. Single player campaign is similar to Mario Kart, where you go through the multiplayer maps with specific story bits and challenges. It’s a bit of tutorial letting you get used to the game.
Features including a dozen maps, level editor with over 10k user created levels, the ability to create your own in-game trails and more. Under replays, you have the option to export scenes as GIFs, cropping and exporting them in-game. Custom in-game trailers can be submitted to the Trail Shop.
SpeedRunners available for a 4 pack $39.99, and 2 YouTuber Packs for $2.99 each. The YouTuber packs let you play as your favorite YouTube personality.
YouTuber Pack 1
- Peanut Butter Gamer
- Uber Haxor Nova

The YouTuber packs aren’t merely just for fun, either, because the proceeds will go to cancer research.
By purchasing these characters, you’re able to support #TeamSpeedRunner in King of Speed – the official in-game tournament between SpeedRunner and Falcon. Playing any of them until November 20th will result in your wins counting towards the team’s total. If your team wins, all of the sales we make from this DLC go to cancer research.
There’s also several other items for sale for $.99 cents for SpeedRunners. These items include Rainbow Swirl, Arrows, Glitter Galore, and more. You can browse the store for the full inventory.
The developers are taking suggestions on what will be in the final game, and players can leave their thoughts on the forum. 11 languages are currently supported in the game. So what do you think, are you going to check it out? It seems like a lot of fun. It was in Early Access for a long time, and there, it was finely tuned with feedback, and now it’s finally out. I can’t wait to play!
