Despite Low Sales, Wii U Still Has New Games Coming

The Wii U may be experiencing low sales, but Nintendo hasn’t stopped producing and releasing Nintendo Wii U games. Here’s a roundup of the upcoming Wii U titles coming for 2016. Let’s see if some of your new favorites are on the list.

Dual Core – May 25, 2016

It’s 2147 in this futuristic shooter game. You need to uncover what happened on the human colony of Europa, and you play as an AI core installed in a security drone.

Rynn’s Adventure; Trouble in the Enchanted Forest – May 26, 2016

The Enchanted Forest and its animal habitants must be protected from a gang of incroaching reptiles while the king and queen have been kidnapped. Rynn, the princess must help save the forest and royalty in this 2D platformer game.

The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 – June 2, 2016

Another adventure for Wilbur, Ivo, Nate and Critter has arrived in this sequel to Book of Unwritten Tales. The fantasy story features 20 hours of playtime, hundreds of puzzles and more. The game contains spoofs and parodies of favorite fantasy worlds, and should be fun for all who loved the first title.

Mighty No. 9 – June 21, 2016

This Japanese side-scrolling 2D game has elements from 8bit and 64bit arcade games that you’ve known and loved for years, and turns them into a new, fresh game. You’re Beck, a robot, and you’re in a world of infected robots trying to save the world.


Mario and Sonic at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games – June 24, 2016

Mario and Sonic are back at sports with this game featuring the 2016 summer Olympics. Soccer, Rugby, Table Tennis, and Beach Volleyball are just a few of the games you can play with your favorite Sega and Nintendo games characters.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE – June 24, 2016

This new RPG has been inspired by the Fire Emblem series, and you’ll do battles against enemies manifested as the characters.

Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens – June 28, 2016

Nintendo Wii U games are also coming up without release dates, These are Axiom Verge (2nd quarter of 2016), Jotun (Summer), The Next Penelope (Summer), Tumblestone (Summer), plus Hive Jump, Kerbal Space Program, and Ninja Pizza Girl, which are coming in an unspecified time in 2016. Winter 2016 will bring Shantae Half-Genie Hero. Other 2016 games expected are Chromosphore, Back to Bed, Assault Android Cactus, forma 8, Ponco, Soul Axiom, Terraria, A.N.N.E, Action Henk, and Slain.
