In other big news, Chris Charla, Director of [email protected] announced this week the upcoming arrival of cross-network play with PC and PS4, meaning players on Xbox One could go up against players on PS4 and PC. The cross-platform compability has been opened up to developers as well, and it’s up to them if they offer it for a game. The gaming industry was pretty surprised to see this announcement. The same day as his announcement, Psyonix, developers of Rocket League, confirmed Rocket League as the first cross-network game. The exact launch of the feature is unavailable at this time.
Big Batman Games
In anticipation of the new movie Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, there’s an assortment of news surviving the franchises. First, Rocket League has its own Batman-inspired content, including a Batmobile and 3 flags; the DLC is now available for $2.00.
Warner Brothers Interactive has a Batman vs. Superman update of their own in Injustice: Gods Among Us. The game will include versions of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, with their appearance inspired by the movie. The characters will also come with their own gear, and other items may be unlocked within the game. If you have the mobile game, you should already have the update for the DLC.
Amazon has teamed up with Warner Brothers for a voice-controlled game with their Echo speaker and Fire-tv box device. Beginning today, players can tell Alexa to “open The Wayne Investigation,” and then they’ll begin the choose-your-own-adventure game. There “you can interview other characters, find clues, and make as many as 37 decisions that branch the story in a number of ways.” The audio game will take you through the process of solving the murder of Bruce Wayne’s parents. Happy sleuthing!
